The past two weekends have been monumental for me. I say monumental more for the mark in history they are in my life. As many of you know I’m expecting my first child at the end of this month. We are so excited about this new stage of life and our family. So back to the milestones: Two weekends ago I had my last flying experience without a baby in tow or a child at home waiting for me. Last weekend I had my last worship leading/performing experience both pregnant and without a baby in tow. I am so blessed to do what I love by creating music and leading people in worship to their Savior with that music. It has been a huge blessing that I have still be able to sing and play throughout my pregnancy over these past few months even as the baby belly got bigger. (See picture below!) So what that means is that for those of you attending SuperStart this spring in case you haven’t heard already I won’t be able to be at the Tulsa, Bloomington or Cincinnati events. However they will still be using my music and the SuperStart! band I’ve been working with. A close friend and someone I’ve worked with for years is going to fill in for me at those events. I am very confident in the abilities of my friend, Laney, to lead your students to real and authentic worship of God at the event.
Here is my official statement SuperStart! sent to their registrants:
“Although I’m sad I won’t be able to be a part of the Tulsa, Bloomington and Cincinnati SuperStart events, I’m very excited to have Laney fill my shoes as worship leader. I’ve worked closely with Laney over the years, she interned with me and coordinated our preteen worship program when I was on staff at a church a few years back. I know her heart and I know her love for preteen students and have confidence she will do an amazing job leading your students into the presence of God. I look forward to being back with SuperStart in the fall with my baby boy in tow!”
So where does this leave me? I’m at home continuing to prep my house for baby’s arrival, pack bags for the hospital and continue on planning and prepping for tour travels this summer and the remainder of the year. I will still be making music and traveling doing concerts and live events. I’ll still be writing and creating new music for families and churches. I ask you to keep me and my husband, Cory, in your prayers as we enter into this new and exciting stage of life. We are blessed and thankful to know the best is yet to come.
Humbled, thankful and a bit bigger in the belly than usual 🙂
