Recently Yancy took part in an awesome event for children’s pastors called CPC East. This year the event was in Orlando, FL at Disney World. During the opening session Yancy took the stage and lit up the night performing a few songs from the Jungle Safari VBS from Standard Publishing. If you’ve read some of my past posts then you know one of my favorite parts about what I do is writing songs that people are able to sing. Especially since those songs are filled with scripture and worship helping connect that person to God. I LOVE that part of what I do. The theme for 2013 is service. How kids can serve their world everyday. It’s called “God’s Backyard Bible Camp Under the Sun and Under the Stars”. Standard has created two curriculums to tailor fit whether a church is doing the traditional daytime VBS or an evening VBS.
So I’ve completed two weeks on the road doing summer events. Summer brings an interesting switch to my schedule. During the school year I’m mostly on the road on the weekends and home some during the week but in the summer it flips to week events and home on the weekends. Last week I was blessed to be a part of a VBX at Westside Church in Omaha. Their advertising said “this ain’t your Grandma’s VBS”
