There’s a lot of insecurities that people have. One them can be the desire and need to fit in. You know the usual popularity contest that we’re all in. The song “I Belong To Jesus” came from a place of realizing “I don’t care what people may say or what I might feel. I know that I’m a child of God. He loves me, knows everything about me and He has an amazing plan for my life.”
I’ve hosted a few dance parties in my life. It’s fun to crank up the music, hang with friends and just celebrate. The song “Time To Celebrate” is just a fun-filled song. There’s no point to it. There’s no response to an issue. There’s no scripture that it’s based on it’s just about having fun, hanging with your friends.
I wrote the song with a co-writer I’ve written with over the years. Doug McKelvey is his name and he is a lyrical genius.
OK this song is a cover song. Originally recorded by Fleetwood Mac this is pretty much one of the classic rock staples in America that I bet you’ve heard before. A year or so ago I thought about this song and had the idea to re-record it. I thought it could be something fun to do live at family concerts. A little something for the parents! I am someone who believes strongly that God has a plan for your life.
Heaven is going to be an amazingly cool place. It blows my mind to even try to think about what will be our eternal home when we are Christ followers. I’m so excited. Seriously think about the streets of gold….it’s gonna be awesome! The song “Forever & Ever” is a song about our future in Heaven. We need to make everyday count of our time here on earth. Jesus is coming back, soon and very soon.
I’ve always been intrigued by the verse in Luke 19:40 “But he said, “If they kept quiet, the stones would do it for them, shouting praise.” (MSG) I lead worship alot. In fact it’s a huge part of what I do with my music. I’m honored to create worship resources and write songs that people connect with and sing in their churches. We were created to worship God plain and simple. God created us to bring Him praise and this verse in Luke reminds us that if we keep quiet the rocks will take our place.
The first track on the new record is one of my personal favorites. It’s a song called Make It Loud. On my previous CD Rock-N-Happy Heart there was a song called Shout! that has become a crowd favorite for sure.
