I was awakened one morning to a phone call. You know when you can tell something is wrong immediately by the tone of the voice on the other end of the call? Yeah, I knew something was up. I was told some information that would make anyone sad to hear. The fact that the sad news was about someone very close and even someone that I had looked up to and esteemed stopped me in my tracks. “Is this really true?” “How could it be?” “Why could we not see it?” Many questions ran through my mind. I spent that day and even the weeks to come in a state of shock trying to process it. I remember walking over to my piano and my heart responding immediately:

I wanna love You
With my life
I wanna give You
What’s inside
Sincerely, completely Yours
Sincerely, completely Yours

I am so tired of people giving lip-service. I’m sick of going through the motions. It’s not enough to just say and do what people expect us to say and do. Is it from our heart? Do we really mean it? The Bible says “Man looks on the outward appearance but God looks at the heart.” What does He see when He looks at your heart? What does He see when He looks at my heart?

The song “Sincerely, Completely Yours” is a prayer. It’s words are me responding to the sadness and hurt of my friend. It’s my renewed desire to let my life’s actions and words be true. I want to be wholly, one hundred percent, sold out and committed to Jesus. I’m not just saying that because it’s what I expect you to expect me to say. I’m saying it cause I mean it. I hope you’ll make it your prayer too:

“God help us to live for You everyday. Through our life, through our choices help us to make You proud. Help us to live like we are truly committed to You and furthering Your Kingdom. Help us to be sincerely , completely Yours! Amen.”
