I can’t believe this is the last day of this year’s (we’ll hope for more next year) 12 Days of Christmas blog with stories, inspiration and deals at yancynotnancy.com. I hope you and yours are having a blessed Christmas season. I’ve had a fun week of being a part of an outreach my church does at the mall “Free gift wrap” for everyone. A great way to show love to those who might never walk into church doors.
We added some new videos to the media page here at yancynotnancy.com. You’ll find two acoustic performances of the songs “Merry Christmas, Happy Christmas” and “The Greatest Gift”. Plus you can see Yancy’s interview from earlier this week on The Harvest Show. Be sure to check them out.
On the eleventh day of Christmas my true love gave to me……Ah, tis the season for shopping and baking. Christmas parties at work, school, church. Outreaches to the community, Salvation Army bell ringers, Angel trees, coat and canned food drives. I led worship last night for the senior high students at my church. My dad was speaking about the angels in the Christmas story and how they were the “messengers”. He challenged the students at the end that we have been told this amazing story of Christmas.
It’s Day 10….that means there’s only two days left of my 12 days of Christmas…I think I’ll shed a tear right now. I’ve had a fun time sharing with you. Yesterday was a great day, I got to be a part of my church’s outreach to the community. They have a storefront at the mall where they provide free gift wrap. It’s a great way to show love to our community. I got to be one of the gift wrappers which was fun for me since I actually like to gift wrap plus I got to get to know a few people from my church that I didn’t know before.
Wow, it’s day 9. We are already almost a third of the way through December. Time is flying by. Today I’m going to serve with my church at an outreach they do in our community. Free gift wrap at the mall. That’s right they have a booth at the mall where they will provide free gift wrap for anyone’s gifts just as our church’s way of saying “We love you….Merry Christmas”. I’m pumped about being a part of it today and tomorrow (and let’s be honest,
Tonight 12-8-09 I’ll be on the All Request House Party 8pm central at www.thehousefm.com If you’re in Ponca City tune in on the radio for her interview and to hear songs from “Have A Fancy Yancy Christmas” otherwise you can listen online.
Yesterday Yancy was on the Harvest show www.harvest-tv.com on LESEA broadcasting. The show aired live but sometime re-airs so keep your eye out for that plus Yancy filmed a couple extra songs for them so they could show those at any time.
Eight days a week……on the eighth day of Christmas my true love gave to me…..It’s day eight. That’s one week and one day day or one week and the first day of a second week or simply eight days which is what we’ll go with. 🙂 Thanks for taking the time to read my stories and thoughts and take part in this 12 Days of Christmas event. We’re gonna start with the good stuff for you.
Wow, it’s been a crazy but good weekend. I did my first ever Christmas concert performing all the songs from “Have A Fancy Yancy Christmas”. It was a blast and exciting to finally bring the songs to life on the stage not just in the studio. I’ve done a few performances over the six weeks of a couple songs but it was my first time to do “Wonderful Christmastime” and “The Medley” as well as “The First Noel’
There is most definitely a chill in the air but it seems there’s an expectancy in the hearts of others. I know I say this alot but I LOVE Christmas…I really do. From the fake snow decorations to the Christmas drinks at Starbucks there’s just so much to celebrate. Obviously, today is Sunday and I hope you are going and/or have already been to a church service somewhere. I am spending the day in Columbus,
Whoa! I woke up this morning, peeked outside and there is snow on the ground and rooftops. I’ll admit it’s not a lot of snow but it is a small amount that’s enough to cover the roofs and at least some of the grass. It’s enough to make this whole 12 Days Of Christmas seem pretty real. Let’s be honest this year has flown by. I mean shouldn’t it still be March 2009 not December 5,
